The Phantom’s Lair

Dark. Cold. Frightening.

The Phantom takes Christine down into his lair. He takes her down the haunted hallway. A few candles flicker out their last bit of light. Ancient paintings, unwanted masks and a giant organ filled the lair. The organ started playing and the horrid phantom with the mask starts to sing.

Christine was terrified. The room was painted black and crimson, making her think of blood. She realized she shouldn’t be here, and she was in danger. The Phantom was no longer her Angel of Music, just a man no one has ever cared for.

She realized she was in danger and searched for an escape route. The came across a replica dummy of herself, really giving her the chills. The Phantom mocked her with his wicked laugh. She felt her way through the darkness of the place, desperate to escape free. She ran out to the pond behind the lair, crying for help.

As Raoul came to her rescue, she would never forget the scary memory of being trapped in the Phantom’s lair.

  1. I really liked how you explained what was going on in Christine’s mind such as “The room was painted black and crimson, making her think of blood”. I also loved how you detailed the Phantoms lair by showing the smell and what it looked like in detail writing.

  2. “The Phantom was no longer her Angel of Music, just a man no one has ever cared for.”
I love this sentence because it shows the change in Christines mind. It also shows how he changes, the Phantom, because he is not good anymore, he is dangerous, not an angel anymore. I also like how you say that he was never cared for, it shows how he has no love in him.

  3. “Ancient paintings, unwanted masks and a giant organ filled the lair.” I really enjoyed reading this post, but this was by far my favorite part to read. I believe that “ancient paintings” could and does show how long he has been stuck down in his layer. As well as how “unwanted masks” show that he has possibly been uncovered by another person or rejected before Christine. Lastly I enjoy that you tell of the only things that are in his layer, I believe that this shows how empty his layer is and from my pov I think that this could resemble how empty the phantom is as well.

  4. This line: “The room was painted black and crimson, making her think of blood.” really allowed me to imagine being in the Phantom’s lair. It gives you a feeling that the Phantom is a dangerous man, full of evil. I really like it.

  5. “He takes her down the haunted hallway. A few candles flicker out their last bit of light.” This sentence really helps me understand that the Phantom’s presence alone can put out lights. It also shows that wherever the Phantom goes, darkness follows him. His lair is dark, his mind is dark, and his soul is dark. This sentence really emphasizes that point.

  6. I really like the sentence: “The room was painted black and crimson, making her think of blood. ” because it shows how much the Phantom likes blood.

I also like your introduction because the rest of your post revolves around the three words “dark, cold, and frightening”. Good lob on this post!
